About Jane Chen
Jane is a corporate attorney who counsels private, public and emerging companies on a range of corporate and transactional matters. She focuses her practice on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, and private equity. Jane is experienced in supporting clients in a variety of industries, including technology, energy & sustainability, life sciences, health care, media, finance, insurance, and food & beverage.
Prior to joining Eagle Law, Jane worked as a corporate attorney at the global law firms Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP and Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., managing corporate and securities transactions and advising clients as outside general counsel. At these firms, Jane was active in their pro bono practices and dedicated volunteer time to helping veterans through the Veterans Clinic and the Veterans Consortium. As a former military spouse of a Marine officer, Jane has extensive experience navigating complex federal bureaucracies and deeply understands the national defense enterprise.
Before practicing law, Jane worked as a trader for a New York–based hedge fund, where she managed and traded equity portfolios of companies listed on the NYSE and NASDAQ. Jane’s finance background allows her to uniquely understand clients’ business needs and to navigate and manage risk for her clients.
Jane has served as a legal extern with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and as a policy intern in the United States Treasury Department. She also served as a judicial intern with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina and clerked for the 24th Judicial District Court in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana and for a Washington, DC–based boutique law firm.
In law school, Jane co-wrote a petition for certiorari submitted to the United States Supreme Court while participating in the Emory Law School Supreme Court Advocacy Program. Jane is a graduate of Emory University School of Law, with honors, and was awarded the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Contract Drafting. She is also a graduate of Duke University, where she earned her BA degree for majors in Political Science and English.
